Explore the Subaru Wilderness: Your Ultimate Off-Road Adventure

Welcome to the world of the 2026 Subaru Wilderness lineup, where adventure takes on a new meaning. Designed for the true explorer, these vehicles deliver rugged off-road capability, innovative technology, and proven durability to handle the toughest terrain. Rocky trails, unpaved kayak launches, muddy back roads after a Florida rainstorm: Subaru Wilderness vehicles are built for all of it.
The 2026 Subaru Wilderness lineup includes three purpose-built off-road SUVs: the Crosstrek Wilderness, Forester Wilderness, and Outback Wilderness. Each model features standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, X-MODE®, lifted ground clearance, and all-terrain tires built for serious off-road use.
At Subaru of Pembroke Pines, Florida’s #1 Volume Subaru dealer, we’re proud to offer the full 2026 Wilderness lineup to drivers across South Florida. Read on to discover what makes each model the right choice for your next off-road journey.
Discover the Subaru Wilderness

Adventure takes a new form with the 2026 Subaru Wilderness lineup. Every model arrives specifically engineered for off-road use, with extensive all-terrain upgrades, enhanced ground clearance, and drivetrain improvements that go well beyond cosmetic changes.
Every 2026 Wilderness model shares the same core foundation: standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, dual-function X-MODE® with Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud settings, all-terrain tires, a front skid plate, water-resistant StarTex® upholstery, and anodized copper accents inside and out. Bold exterior styling pairs with a high-tech, practical cabin. With Subaru’s proven reliability, these vehicles will take you places you never imagined and get you safely back home.
Subaru Wilderness: Unmatched Off-Road Capabilities

The 2026 Subaru Wilderness lineup is engineered to take you farther than ever before. Standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive sends power to all four wheels continuously, not just when slip is detected. Enhanced dual-function X-MODE® and Hill Descent Control give you precise traction and speed management on the most demanding surfaces. Revised gear ratios across all three models improve low-speed climbing power on rough terrain.
Ground clearance is model-specific and meaningfully higher than standard trims:
- Crosstrek Wilderness: 9.3 inches
- Forester Wilderness: 9.3 inches (up from 9.2 inches in 2025)
- Outback Wilderness: 9.5 inches
Yokohama GEOLANDAR® all-terrain tires are standard on the Crosstrek and Forester Wilderness. The Outback Wilderness wears Bridgestone Dueler rubber. Redesigned bumpers with improved approach and departure angles and a standard front skid plate round out the trail-ready hardware.
Towing capacity is one of the biggest surprises in this lineup. The Crosstrek and Outback Wilderness each tow up to 3,500 lbs when properly equipped. The Forester Wilderness handles up to 3,000 lbs, which is double the standard Forester’s rating. That’s enough for a small boat, a loaded kayak trailer, or a full weekend camping rig.
Tough, Functional Design for Rugged Adventures

Subaru Wilderness vehicles offer both trail protection and distinctive style. StarTex® water-resistant upholstery wipes clean instead of soaking through — wet suits, sandy gear, muddy paws, damp camping equipment. Rear seat backs feature protective material for loaded cargo, and the seats fold flat for serious hauling room.
Outside, tough body cladding shields the lower panels on brushy trails, matte black alloy wheels handle off-road use, and upgraded roof rails support heavier loads, including rooftop tent rigs. An Anti-Glare Hood Decal improves visibility of obstacles ahead, a genuinely useful feature under Florida’s full-strength year-round sun. Exclusive Wilderness styling details include black exterior trim with Anodized Copper accents, Subaru Wilderness badges, available Geyser Blue paint, and copper-accented interior trim on the shifter, gauge meter rings, and heated leather-wrapped steering wheel. LED interior and cargo-area lighting keep gear loading easy before sunrise or after dark.
Safety, Durability, and Dependability

EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology is standard across the entire 2026 Wilderness lineup, including Pre-Collision Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering, Automatic Emergency Steering, and High Beam Assist. These features matter as much on I-95 as they do on a remote trail.
The 2026 Forester Wilderness and Outback Wilderness each earned IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards under updated 2026 testing criteria; more demanding standards than any previous year. At the brand level, Subaru has earned 75 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards since 2013 as of December 2025.
Long-term value backs up the safety story. 96% of Subaru Crosstrek vehicles sold in the last 10 years are still on the road today. The Crosstrek holds the Best Resale Value in its class per Kelley Blue Book, and ranks #1 for Dependability and Projected Resale Value among Small SUVs by J.D. Power. Every 2026 Wilderness model carries a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
The Subaru Wilderness Lineup:
2026 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness

The most compact and maneuverable of the three. What makes it stand out is the value-to-capability ratio: 9.3 inches of ground clearance and 3,500 lbs of towing capacity in a footprint you can actually park in Coconut Grove or navigate a tight trail access road. For solo adventurers or couples who want genuine off-road confidence without stepping into a midsize SUV, this is the entry point that doesn’t feel like a compromise.
2026 Subaru Forester Wilderness

The family off-roader, redesigned from the ground up for 2026. The boxier silhouette isn’t just a style choice. It opens up sightlines on the trail and adds usable cabin volume. 39.4 inches of rear legroom and up to 69.1 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats folded make this the one for families who pack like they mean it. The standard 11.6-inch Subaru Multimedia touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ keeps everyone connected, whether you’re crossing Alligator Alley or looking up a campsite.
2026 Subaru Outback Wilderness

The first member of the Wilderness family, and still the flagship. The turbocharged engine is the difference-maker here: 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque give the Outback Wilderness a confidence level the others simply can’t match when you’re fully loaded or pushing through genuinely tough terrain. At 9.5 inches of ground clearance with Bridgestone Dueler tires, it’s built for the Keys run, the Everglades levee road, and every loaded weekend haul in between.
