Florida's Number One Volume Subaru Store!!!
The flagship car of the Fuji Heavy Industries' Subaru is surely one to brag about. The Subaru Legacy boasts of luxury interiors as well as exteriors, parading itself as the midsize executive car of the brand. It stands as the competition against the likes of the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, or even the Nissan Cefiro. Until the year 2007, it was sold as either a sedan or a wagon, and in 2008 it was sold only as a sedan.
Of course, it comes in symmetrical all-wheel drive, powered by the characteristic 2.5 L DOHC Turbo Subaru Boxer [4-cylinder and 6-cylinder] engine with maximum output of 195 kW at 5,600 revolutions per minute and maximum torque of 350 N-m at 2,400 ? 5,200 revolutions per minute. Control and handling is so easy because of these features, something that makes it uniquely Subaru. It also gives superb traction, leaving the driver and the passengers feeling secure of the ride. The balance that the low center of gravity provides also gives it the feeling of easy turning and gliding on the road. It has projector beam headlights, aerodynamic side ground effects, available 6-speed manual or 5-speed Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission which runs automatically and can be changed via paddle shifters on the steering wheel column, and Vehicle Dynamics Control.
For the exteriors, the headlights automatically turn on when it begins to get dark out at twilight, and also automatically turns off when the car is off and keys are out of the ignition. It also has fog lamps, a sun roof for added wind and sunlight, and automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers so that you don't have to adjust the speed over and over ? it does the adjustments depending on how heavy the rain is falling. There is also a camera installed in the rear part of the car so as to aid you when you park or change lanes. The display will be seen in your dashboard so minimal turns and straining your neck to get a view of where you could probably be hitting something is reduced. 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels are also what keep your car running in style.
Inside, the legroom is generous and front seats are heated. There is also a great SD-based navigation system with XM NavTraffic. The Subaru Legacy is equipped with the EyeSight Driver assist system that has adaptive cruise control and lane-departure warning so that you do not miss a beat and enjoy every moment as you leisurely drive along the highway. Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free access is also available, as well as the auxiliary jack, USB and iPod port, that is all linked to an audio system with color display.
Previous generations saw a center console mounted handbrake. Now, seen on the dashboard is an electric handbrake switch that replaces it. Nearer to the driver are also the stereo controls, and the climate control Auto function.
As one can see, the class and luxury displayed by the Legacy, accompanied by the trademark Subaru features, make it one of the best cars a person can drive. In fact, in 1990, it was deemed the number one selling four-wheel drive car in the U.S.A. by R.L. Polk and Company. In the same year, it was also named the Best New Sedan by the Automotive Journalists Association of Canada or the AJAC.
